Can anybody with more experience help me out maybe? I just started taking candids and im not sure how some people get such good footage, Im not really sure what im doing either. Also a lot of times i completely miss my target due to being unable to see my screen, any tips for anything?

You’ll find the angle that works best for you through trial and error. And for the love of god don’t stalk the subject through each aisle and all the way out the store. Just get what you can and move on

Thanks. How should i get closeups, or even a better candid in general though? My current way of doing all of my candids is to just walk while recording and turn to the side when the subject is right there, so most of my stuff is taken from the side(without view). Sorry about the mini rant but is there any advice you can give?
You’ll build confidence over time to get the angles you see other cappers get. Hopefully more experienced cappers give some tips
Semi unrelated but i was on mushrooms and i went walking to the stores to go cap and i realized how silly this hobby is and the whole made up game in our heads of fake looking at things to position ourselves in a way to get a good shot,so i found someone just went behind her got some closeup and side angles and just went straight for upshot and left.I had a realization about how slow i usually am capping and i look lost looking at products when i could(in some scenarios)Just bam and be over.Oh but for advice i would say dont stare or even look at her people notice prying eyes.Sell what youre doing with your actions,bodylanguage ,eyes,Know how to tilt your phone without looking, be aware of others, and last thing is realize when a woman has you in her mind then either leave or break tension with conversation GL
