How to get the target fully in frame

I use an action camera to capture candid’s but when i look back at some of my videos i can only see the lower half of the persons body, how do i position my camera so that i capture everything, including their head?

Also how do i get closer without them knowing, I’ve done it before but i usually can’t do it for too long because someone might notice unless the conditions are perfect.

Also should i wear a balaclava or sunglasses.

Hi buddy, my suggestions are:

  1. Use the “XS camera” app on your phone to secretly record videos with the screen locked, you can even choose to use the front camera for selfies to record videos with the screen locked.

  2. After using the app, pretend to make a phone call or pretend to scratch your other elbow. This is to allow you to take a close-up of your face or upper body in a natural way, but be careful not to do it for too long.

  3. Try to keep your phone at your side below your waist, just like people hold it when walking.

  4. When there is no one to cover you, don’t get too close to the target or stay too long. Ten seconds or less is best. Keeping a distance will help capture the full body image.

5.. Avoid eye contact. I never look at the target and always pretend to be in a daze or looking elsewhere.

  1. In small amounts and multiple times, in order to remain natural and safe and avoid being noticed, I capture the images by slowly moving or passing by nearby. This means there will be blank periods, which is normal.

Finally, I think some people get noticed because they stare at their target for too long. Based on observation and experience, when you stare at someone for perhaps more than ten seconds, even if she doesn’t know you’re behind her at first, she will instinctively sense your gaze and turn around to check.

Therefore, many times, I don’t know the target’s appearance or physical details at the moment, and I only find out by watching the video after the end. Good luck to you.

You can have a try by pretending you are making a phone call.

Ive been doing that, thanks, i just need to get a better action camera because the akaso brave 7 video quality is too grainy/blurry.

Do not wear a balaclava!

Ok, but what about sunglasses?

Only if it’s sunny. Dress normal!

Ok, well I’m going to get a pair tomorrow as the weather is hot now that it is May. I wear jeans and and a light jacket.
