Smartwatch camera replacement

Hello, today I am seeking your wisdom, because I got a problem. I hope you could help me with this one.

Yet, I made creepshots with my Mobile phone and it went very good. But it starts to get suspicious. And in 1 mouth we are going to a watermark, and filming there with a mobile phone is no option for me. So I bought the Digikuber Sport Smartwatch with camera.

And the watch is very good. It has a good design and is waterproof and does everything a good sport watch should do. But one thing bothers me and it’s the camera quality. In the description it says that the camera is 1080p but that’s clearly not the case. It’s not even 720p I guess. I made some testing videos but these aren’t very good. But I got an idea. The hole for the camera is just as big as my front camera on my phone. And the front camera has a very better resolution. So I was wondering, could I replace the camera with a better one, if the camera is connected with a cable to the motherboard?

I hope some of you have experience with this or even got the same watch as me. I hope you can help me.

Yeah , I think I will open the watch and see what i could do

I would highly recommend you not to do it if you don’t know what what you’re doing, there’s a high likely chance you could mess up your phone and it’s camera capabilities along with the watch. Also, it’s not guaranteed that placing your phone’s camera onto the watch is gonna work. But do it at your own risk, I guess.

It’s not only the lens or “camera” in your watch. Its the processor as well. So when you think of the size of the watch compared to the size of your phone, there’s more room in your phone for the electronics. It’s the same comparison for your phone and a dslr. No phone can surpass a hand held camera, yet.

I meant that I would buy a camera like my phone’s front camera

Would there be a chance if I would buy a new camera with cable? Or would that also not be compatible? And unfortunately there is no better watch as that.

The fact you’re asking that last question sounds like you are not electrically inclined enough to attaché the camera. There are so many cameras out there “RIP Radio Shack” and you can compile something I’m sure. But as mentioned above you will also need to know the software will work. It’s not worth getting into the specifics at this point and to look at other options.

  1. Phones are water proof now up to 6ft, what’s the deal?
  2. By an older model GoPro kit for like $2-300, waterproof, looks normal carrying it, but some parks won’t allow it on the rides.
  3. Try buying another device since you’re short on time:

Save the tinkering for later, the options are unlimited but takes a lot of research and testing.

Thanks for the message. Yeah I am not really the Hardware Guy. My friend knows that type of stuff and he also bought this watch.
I don’t know if he wants to try the same thing.

I would use my phone if I could because it’s waterproof, but walking behind the girls or standing with my phone down the waist isn’t a good idea for me

And do you know why all the spy camera are advertised as 1080p full HD but infact are 420p or something what is far far away from 1080p

Probably is 720, just cheap equipment.
It’s not just the lens.
Old saying, “you wanna play, you gotta pay’”

You could get a life proof case, I’ve gone 12’ down with those maybe more.
GoPro is the best thing!! Carry a ball cap, maybe not fitted even, help stash it when needed. Man purse!?!
People walk with camcorders in their hands for several minutes down busy ass cut streets and get some damn good footage. Maybe they are large enough to keep away most people, idk

Good luck!! I’d go GoPro!! Max settings, look normal, great footage, remote or use phone as a remote, screen goes black …can’t go wrong

$278 for GoPro 9 bundle Amazon!!
Get 3 batteries!!!

I bought a raspberry pie Wi-Fi model with a mini hd cam 1080p to test as a spy cam. Basically the idea was to disguise the raspberry pi board in anything I could bury the cam in. Bird feeder outside a window, light stand, clock/radio/alarm, light switch. Put the thing together myself with motion eye os software. Took a few hours and it was working great. But to say the camera sucks would be the understatement of the century. You get what you pay for. I think the whole thing cost me maybe $100. I may try a better camera down the road, but was unimpressed.
