I find that the women most likely to be suspicious are the ‘hotter’ ones.
Being caught isn’t good, but it’s usually only a problem if there’s a ‘tough guy’ boyfriend or dad present. The other exception is if it’s a place you frequent a lot. Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry too much.
The idea of being caught by a few hotties doesn’t really worry me. Even if they’re mad at the time, some of them will enjoy the thought later.
This hobby is very risky now. I mentioned my experience elsewhere on the board, but I used to be a very active capper. About 7 years ago I got so much footage just with my phone on the street. But I noticed even then a growing awareness and got into some dangerous situations over my capping “career”.
So I gave up the hobby a few years ago, until… recently I very tempted to capture this one subject, and decided to go for it. No special setup; all I had was my phone. “Should I do this? I thought I was done?” Well, I got a decent shot. Except afterwards I noticed some tell-tale signs that people, including the subject, caught on. All from a brief shot. No direct confrontations, but clearly I was noticed.
Yeah. I think I’m done now. Not unless I spend some time and money and get a very discreet setup. Open phones are not the way to go. I’d advise everyone else to do the same. Stay safe and good luck.

Same Op. I was happily capping away at work thinking no one was noticing and just the last two weeks, I’ve noticed a lot more leadership convienently an aisle away from at all times now. And if a big butt walks by they all turn to see what I’m gonna do. Sucks but at least we have this site
