I’ve been thinking about posting pictures/videos I’ve taken but haven’t been able to find a good app to edit the videos.
I’ve tried to crop and trim videos on Google photos but it reduces the quality of the video.
If anyone has any recommendations on some good apps that allows you to trim and crop videos without reducing the quality that’d be great.
I’m pretty new with this type of stuff and haven’t ever actually uploaded any pictures or videos I’ve taken.
Truthfully I’ve been a bit paranoid and skeptical of posting the pictures and videos I’ve taken because I don’t want to get caught/recognized. Which is why I’m wanting to find a good app to crop and trim the videos to remove parts of myself like my shoes and pants.
I have more of a proper reason I haven’t posted any pictures and videos I’ve taken but that’s for a different story/post.
Anyways I’d like to start sharing the pictures and videos I’ve taken so any recommendations for editing apps that doesn’t reduce quality would be much appreciated.
Along with any tips/advice would also be much appreciated.
First, ensure the original video itself doesn’t suffer from quality issues.
Secondly, depending on the output settings, video apps may compress a file for the sake of exporting at a reasonable file size (and also may experience loss during compression). You’ll have to go through the settings and ensure you’re exporting it at relatively the same parameters as the source file to maintain most of the original quality.
Youcut or inshot are good video-editing apps if you wish to edit your videos directly from your phone. If you want to get more comprehensive, I personally edit my content with DaVinci Resolve. The free version offers 80% of what the paid version does (Resolve Studio) — I have the paid version, but the free one is more than enough.
Moreover, things like HDR may effect the outcome of your edited video if it’s turned on in Settings as it may not be processed by some apps as favorably as a plain source file (free of added features).
Just know, whatever editing/processing/compression done to your video by a program doesn’t export the exact source file on the other side — you’re likely to experience some loss of quality that may, or may not, be perceptible.
