Based on my latest and first few posted topics on this forum is there anything I can improve on as a newcomer?
Open to hearing out any advice or tips & tricks whatever you may find would be helpful to inform someone new to this.
One problem I am currently facing is the positioning of my camera. I’ve missed great caps due to my camera not being positioned correctly just as I’m near and when I go to check the photos all if not most of the photos are to a side and miss most of the target. Though it’s probably because I try my best not to make it seem like I am taking pictures.
How do you all hold your phones to catch the a good angle? Especially not to look obvious

Biggest advice I can give you is trust your gut. If you don’t get a good feeling your best off leaving the area. Also big one, If you’re capping a girl and you see in your peripheral vision that she’s looking at you or anywhere near your direction, for one don’t make eye contact. Fight all the urge to look cause that’ll make you seem even more suspicious. If you just go about your business and act like she doesn’t even exist most likely she’ll just keep going about her business. I’ve gotten so many clips of women looking at my phone and only cause I didn’t react they just kept doing their thing. If you’re shoot black leggings increase the exposure on your phone prior to shooting at look it in. Black leggings are the worst to cap lmaoo. Use a wide angle lens and shoot horizontal. That’ll give you the best chance of getting your subject in frame. I used to shoot vertical and so many times I would miss my shot cause she went out of frame

I always hold my phone down by waist, just like when I always casually hold it. So the vast majority of my shots are from the side when I’m not looking in their direction. Using the volume button as a shutter is the best. Doesn’t even look like I’m doing anything.
However, i do see people sometimes glimpsing down at it. Not even the subjects. Just passersby. But I think acting casual is the key.

You hit the nail on the head. The best thing you can do is improve positioning. Positioning can and will make or break your cap. Then of course the next thing is getting the skill to be fluid and savvy with your caps.
