Camera for bag? does the fdr x3000 still cut it? prefer less fisheye lens. dji action 2 i heard overheats

hi guys looking for a camera for my bag setup, slender camera is better and if the lens circle can fit inside 20mm or less itd be great.

i notice as50 and o ther action cams have ridiculous fisheye and make the subject look soo far away that you need to be literally on them to get the shot. open to ideas

I’m also looking to upgrade from my Sony action cam. The camera keeps overheating and the footage could use a little more high def.

which one are you using and is it in a bag setup? i just tried a small bag for the first time with the sony AS50 and its soooooo grainy, shakey, and just shit. my phone looks miles better and i argubaly have beter ways to film with a phone.

I have a bag with a mesh in front where I jam my phone in. Works a treat.
I also use an action 2 for open shooting, it only overheats if you use it for more than 10 minutes at a time.

hey mate this sounds good idea but wouldnt it be really obvi the phone is just pointing out evrywhere or i dotn really understand how to imagine this haha, its just those fishnet cross type material right? but wouldnt it have lines all over the footage? if you can upload a pic itd be mad or a diagram or example bag link thx!

edit: update, i bought the fdr x3000 but the lens is gigantic compared to current sony i have. not sure what i can do really to be inconspicious with this. open to ideas, fk!

hey man did you ever end up posting this? for what its worth i just ordered the action 2 to try and jam into a bag, altho im not sure if that werid little circle on the lens is some kind of light sensor that cant be covered, do you happen to know how much of the camera can be covered (draw a circle on the stock image)? the red circle is the one im worried about covering and the green circle inside of it is the only part of the camera i plan to have visible in the hole. (does stabilization still work or does it need the whole lens exposed??) and finally, is it good for mall shots which are my shots 99% of the time walking with a crosbody bag . thanks!

id really like to try the phone setup if i can, i can even have my gf hold it and post lots of good shit here if i can get it nice to work properly

also when you say 10 mins, do you mean 10 minutes powered on or 10 minutes recording? i wanna walk around all day with it powered on but only record when i see something good, might get hte pocket 2 instead if its good

How would you turn on of off camera when something interesting is next to us? do you assume using any powerbank to have camera battery live all day?

I think it can be controlled and viewed with an app via direct wifi.

I assume yes but very often devices turn off after some time so you have to turn on manually to control it using wifi direct/app

Get a custom GoPro from Ragecams(dot)com problem solved! I’m sure everyone else on here will appreciate it too. We are all tired of looking at Etch-a-Sketch photos and videos recorded with a junior high calculator.

hey i just looked it up this website, which product do you reccomend and have u used any? hows the quality, thanks. my fdr x3000 is very hjard to use rn

You can show the bag you use? Dont understand what you mean

How is the action 2?
What bag or bag with a special pocket can fit such a camera?

I’m debating whether to buy Action 2 Or Go Pro 8 black. The question is where to put it. In a special bag with a pocket or just a bag? How do you make it as natural as possible? hook

let me know what you decide, im constnatly asking for help on setup ideas so i can make better candids myself, (i dont make anything worth posting right now) and i never get a photo or whatever so ican never understand what to do lol. obviously ive tried my own ways tooo, the fdr x3000 is crap though.

Sorry for being over a year late. It’s very simple. You get a modified GoPro from either Rage Cams or Stunt Cams with the pinhole lens. You can put that inside ANYTHING. Hopefully everyone follows suit since I’m sure I’m not the only one sick and tired of watching blurry footage that was filmed with a calculator from Toys R Us.
