DJI nano

Hey guys i’ve recently bought a dji nano and have been trying to craft my way to make it inconspicuous in a bag but with not that much luck, anyone have any bag setups or ideas for camera that size?

@CapToney has this setup I think

This what ur running ?

Dude this is a baby cam you should be able to hide this legit ANYWHERE . I also see it has the option to clip off the top camera part ? Insane tbh I’ll get some ideas together maybe mine below can inspire u or someone .

I have the DJI cam but it’s shaped like a go pro so it’s not really as small as urs so idk how good it’ll do in a bag

I use a $1 bag from target cut a hole

I push the camera against the hole , then I fill the bag with 2 small cologne boxes to make it compressed (also helps make it look like I’m actually shopping / making purchases incase caught ) and makes the camera stand complete still even if I go for upshot’s or swing the bag .

I use PC for this Analogy , u can have a 4000$ pc but u can still suck at video games … same for cameras and set ups

Might look like a gaping hole in a bag but the way I hold it while out / use my phone to operate the camera instead of using a phone to shoot and only swinging the camera outwards instead of facing my chest ONLY when I see a subject keeps me safe

Wonder if you could 3D print a housing to conceal this thing for handheld caps or would it be better in a bag setup?

I’d like to see how the cam looks in the bag from the outside tho. I bet you’re good with it. Just seems not as discreet without it in the hole

Took me a while to find a shot in a video where I walk by a mirror but I’m ALWYAS in black clothing so it helps as well that the set up and can is also black

I am using mine like bootyfulcandid

The cam surrounded by a towel and then a bag

It works for me cuz i am skinny asf and can move my hands around like crazy

I am using that for battery save

Because if its in a bag how am i gonna make it on ? With my phone ? Hell nah the battery will go down very quick

With this setup i can Capture for all day long

But i am also trying to buy like a bottle so i can do the topshelfcandid method soon

Have you tested how much more of the outer circomference of the outer-lens can be covered before the view starts to get obstructed?

Most of it. You can get pretty close to the center with a minimal vignette. To me its worth it, especially if shooting in 4k. The camera is already so small so it’s just that much harder to detect when you cover the other lens.

I tested placing my Galaxy Fold into the mesh compartmente on the side of my backpack. Since I have a pair of nylong straps around my bag to compress it (keeps the bottom from getting super bulky), I was able to place the straps over the top portion of the phone’s back with a slit for the optics which are really small. If instead, i place some foam into that mesh pocket and make a hole for the Nano’s op tics, I think I’d be golden.

I’d treat it like a side-facing sensor array. If my theory is right, nobody would expect the the side a backpack to be a camera. The only challenge is finding inconspicuous ways to walk so that I can get both front and rear views. Sometimes the rear view is great, other times you really want a front view.
