Does anyone have any video samples or screenshots taken with the iPhone 12?

I am interested in that particular model because it is what I can afford at the moment. How does it perform nowadays? 1080p, 4K, etc.
Does it achieve good and/or decent quality at long distances? And without artefacts?(which often happen with black clothes)
How is the stabilisation? And how does it change with different types of lighting?

It’s a good camera, but not for this type of activity.
You’d probably be better off with an Android phone, that focuses on camera specs.

I never thought I’d say this, but having had a 12 Pro Max, I don’t think the auto-focus and other things play to your advantage. Like, it’s good, but not good enough.

Interesting, because I’m looking for something that resembles real life in terms of quality and fidelity, which is why I went for the iPhone, and this model in particular, for what it’s worth.

I’ve been very disappointed with Samsung mobile phones (although I must admit they are entry-level models). They are absolutely rubbish. You can’t take a single frame without compression artefacts, something you can say looks clean! All kinds of detail are lost, which ruins it!
My need right now is: quality and fidelity to what I’m seeing, because all kinds of details are lost with the rubbish I’m playing with.

Depending on what resolution and FPS you choose, you are mostly exempt from compression artifacts. But what you tend to get is high grain and emphasized borders. Same as you get, when you overdo sharpening effects.

I think if you are OK with 4k@30, or 4k@60, then it’s probably OK.
In my experience however, you only get those shots when you are able to record without hasty movements on your side.

If you depend on 120 or 240 fps for very stealthy or quick shots, from which you can extract a lot of non-interpolated frames, the quality deteriorates exponentially to the amount of movement you make.
And you only get 1080p for that, as 4k is maxed out at 60 fps.

So all in all it’s OK in good lighting conditions, when you film with slow hand movements (as in no top-down phone, filming while walking and swinging your hand), then yes.

If you can, buy it at a shop where you have a return policy.

This is a big problem, as not providing a clean image without noise is not very good, to say the least. Stabilisation is also an issue, as it is the first thing to fail during sudden movements, producing blur and making it impossible to take shots in motion.

I hope someone here can provide something to see how it looks.

Good cam. Can’t go wrong! If you’re buying it used, be careful. Make sure to try out all 3 cams before purchasing
