Got CAUGHT Point Blank

Yeah, it happened and ruined me badly. I found out about capping and all recently, after discovering this site just a few days ago and tried doing it today with the hopes of contributing to this forum like everyone else. I thought I was discreet and tried capping these two girls in a bus. 2 seconds in, she told her friend in a loud voice, “He’s recording us”. I had my headphones on so didn’t listen to that and only saw it in the video later. I was there for like 10 minutes in the entirety, before I left. Can anyone please tell me how bad it can go ? Can some authorities be called, this matter be investigated or could I be detained or would these girls go really far with it ? I might sound childish and sorry for that, but I am really scared. Would appreciate any genuine and sane advice on this….Thnx in advance

Yeah, you’re fine. If you weren’t stopped and identified at the time. Police don’t have time to conduct a search for a guy who likely wasn’t committing a crime in their state/country. I’d bet the girls wouldn’t even take the time to report it, if they did, I be surprised if the cops did more than take a report for information. I’d say, like 95% you’re fine, just spooked.

Im not sure i understand? They said you were recording them and they continued on about their business? They didn’t confront you? Im not sure why you’re worried about this I guess? You didn’t do anything illegal.

Aside from them recording you back and posting you on tiktok or something there’s not much to worry about if you weren’t confronted.

I’ve never gotten caught, but have definitely seen people directly look at the phone although it’s very rare. I usually move away the second things are feeling awkward. I never follow and only hang around if there’s a reason for me to (like talking with someone or being in a line). You can try to create a scenario to get footage, but never make it weird cause people will pick up on that, then it will fuel their suspicions.

If you’re in the US, I don’t think they can legally do anything. But socially, there may be an impact if you’re caught. They can post it on social media, make a scene or tell people about it. And even though you might not be in trouble with the law, they CAN call the police. And getting caught doesn’t feel great either as I’m sure you’re seeing.

But honestly, unless you were following them around or clearly sticking the phone up their butt what are they going to be able to do? I don’t think anything will come out of it, so don’t stress. Just be more discreet in the future.

Oh yeah it is just I saw the video later when I got home and realized maybe I might have been suspicious. Hopefully nothing happens

Thanks so much for that. It is a little easing. What I thought could have been my first cap literally turned to a nightmare of sorts

How were you recording them if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks for your reply, this helps me a lot seriously. Just for context, I think I created an ideal scenario as you have mentioned. They were sitting a little far away in the bus. I was standing and thought I can use the ultra wide angle lens of my phone to get the shot. I turned my phone close to my face(not directly at them, would’ve been suspicious obv, but like at a close inclined angle) and pretended to scroll Insta. My screen’s brightness was almost zero. And then, they caught onto it. I am not even aware if the people behind me caught onto it too or not. Nothing happened there, I got off at a stop minutes later. But I hope this doesn’t escalate like someone finding me, news, transit ban and all that crap….Gonna lay low for a while

I would have loved to but I ended up deleting all of them. They weren’t actually that good too since I still don’t know much about best angles, lightning etc.

Oh yeah, so as I mentioned above, they were sitting a little far away in the bus (like a few steps away). I was standing and thought I could use the ultra wide angle lens of my phone to get the shot without my phone being completely up in front of them (since they were a little bit away for the full-body cap with the normal lens) . I turned my phone close to my face(not directly at them, would’ve been suspicious obv, but like at a close inclined angle) and pretended to scroll Insta. My screen’s brightness was almost zero. I don’t really know what gave it off exactly. But my guess and the lesson that this taught me is that :

A.) Never take risk when capping - be very subtle as if nothing is going on. Which would mean that in case I cannot get the cap at a normal angle at which people use their phones, I should avoid
B.) Be fully aware of the environment first and foremost. And learn to let go of any potential cap

If you rely on the bus I probably would not do that anymore. Not sure if the same rules apply if it is a public bus, but businesses can at least ban you from that location willy nilly if someone complains. And use a black screen app from now on ffs. Also risk is part of the game, and you will realize what is and what is not worth even trying to cap. There are also more discrete ways to have your phone recording not just holding it in your hand.

Appreciate your help. What are some good black screen apps for iOS though ? I thought dimming the phone all the way down would do the trick

I’m on Android so that might take some looking but anything does the trick. Not only keeps anyone from seeing you recording but keeps you from accidentally hitting the screen.

If that’s all they said, then relax and enjoy your cap. You’re fine.

I mean , its generally fround upon, but what I would say is use your head, deny everything, and I mean aslong as you weren’t stalking them or touching, there isnt anything that the PD can do other than a trespass. so I would strongly advise, to not do it somewhere compact or somewhere like your office or work, and sites like these also recommend you not. For your own safety and for your colleges safety

I would say in that case number one rule, dont use the recorder app, use a discreet app, in my case I use a app for Iphone and it hides my screen, so I can choose to either have a blank screen or a standby mode screen with just a clock, and I use my volume button as control to cap and stop caps and also to zoom

Instant Camo is my go to now, its privately funded by cappers, and the devs are really good at creating new tools for us to do better at quick encounters, such as record Immediately as soon as apps open, and also functionalities with the action button and Camera Control button aswell (not paid promo)

Even if they felt you might have recorded them: As long as no one caught you in the act, there’s no proof for anything, so nothing to worry about.

How do you know it’s funded by cappers?
