I know its a weird topic/reason, but using my phone to pay has made it so much easier to cap. I no longer feel put of place having my phone out, because if anyone ever asks i can just say im using it to pay. Its helped me loads

it’s just so normal to have your phone out in our current time
(edit) for the amount of people that ask for tips on here i’m ashamed at the amount of have an app of the place you’re in downloaded and you can just tell people your shopping in store on the app
