A little different to your usual “have you ever got caught” posts. I don’t mean caught as in the subject looked at your phone or in your direction. I’m talking about whether someone (the subject or anyone else) approached you and confronted you?
Taking this even further, has anyone threatened you, with violence even? Or they tried to grab your phone off you or even go so far as to threaten or actually put their hand on you?
This never happened to me, but with the amount of crazy people around, it remains a possibility for any of us. I was hanging out with a friend in her early 20s and just casually asked the question, “what would you do if you were out and caught some creep taking photos of you?” Legit her answer kinda scared me, “I’d be so mad I would kick him in the balls”.
No, but is a possibility in the back of my mind. Particularly how “white knights” will be willing to put on displays to act all tough and look like a hero to save women.
What people say they’ll do vs what people actually do are always different. People tend to imagine and trump up their abilities when talking to others (particularly when it involves fighting), but when you’re in the middle of a situation in the heat of the moment most people don’t have time to think and deliver a swift immediate response as they would have planned in their mind. The only exception tends to be people with training like soldiers with combat experience or first responders.
Now, there are also plenty of impulsive and violent folks with anger issues that will easily take things way too far without much provocation, it does happen but is relatively rare.
There have been instances where I guess I’ve been nearly caught out:
1.) was taking caps at work (yes I know don’t shit where you eat) and the subject turned around and just asked if I was taking pics and the manager was right next to me as well, I quickly double swiped on my phone and went to the previous app and got away with it
2.) Was recently capping at a shop and was talking to the sales assistant and she saw my phone and as I was talking to her about another product she was like “ here you can take photos of this”. I think she knew but didn’t call me out on it.
A few months ago, one of those white knight dudes caught me capping and started yelling “creep!” in the store. I yelled back, told him I was shopping and walked out of the store. Haven’t been back since.
It kind of spooked me for a few weeks, but looking back, it’s crazy how someone would make a scene in public when they have no proof what I was doing. Like, I wasn’t being super obvious and my screen was covered.
Yeah a few months ago after I got my iPhone 17 pro it had a setting on from factory, and I had no idea and couldn’t find the setting. I needed an eSIM now so I didn’t have a sim card to search up why tf my screen was hella bright compared to my previous iPhone even tho I was on lowest brightness . And so got caught by some Indian dude white knight and he made me delete the caps. They were really good caps too walking, jiggles and closeups on a nice white legging wedgie. Now I typically use reduce white point to get the brightness down to near black as I way prefer the native camera app compared to black screen camera apps cause why would they be better quality than the iPhone native app. I’m lucky that I wasn’t reported to the store of anything and the girl wasn’t even aware and just went on to continue checkout since so was in line behind her and her fam lol
I’ve never been confronted let alone threatened. I am 6’4 and I go to the gym too though. If you don’t seem intimidating when you want to be, then you will be intimidated by the white knighters who think they can take you. Dog eat dog world. Remember that’s how men will always operate!
This isn’t going to help anyone but I got caught almost 20 years ago as a minor. Phone taken, cops came, her parents came, my parents came, I got suspended and no one knew how to work my phone so I got the caps too. Dad deleted them lol
Been capping on and off for 23 years ever since I had a phone. That was the only time I really got caught. There are other caps (long ago) that I’m sure someone caught me but nothing was said.
Yeah. I haven’t been able to edit the pics but I was walking back to the office one day from lunch. I dipped into the local plaza and saw this big booty babe. I started capping, and I know I should have just gotten the first few caps but I pushed my luck trying to get that money shot.
So I climbed up the escalator and was making a way to angle for a shot when I realized that some guy had seen my approach and was friends with the girls man. He confronted me with a thick accent. Not going to lie but I was scared for a moment.
He just raised his voice asking if I was taking pictures of his girlfriend’s butt. I just responded by asking who his girlfriend was, and when he pointed her out I just told him no, I’m not into fat chicks. His face turned red, luckily some big black guy jumped into the conversation and I just slipped out.
But lesson learned. Don’t push it when capping looking for that awesome shot.
Yo i got a solution for both of yall js turn your volume all the way down and have your ringer off. In settings turn on voiceover or make it where you can turn it on. I have mine where i press the power buttoj three times it turns it on. And i swipe left w two fingers OR already have the camera open and what zoom whether its 1x or 0.5 and than triple tap ur screen to make it all black. BUT U GOTTA USE THREE FINGERS AND YEAH. And obvi do the opposite to turn it off and use ur volume button to record or stop recording
I only been confronted once and it was a chick that knew what I was doing and she followed me back lol and gave me a lecture. Man it’s a pretty funny crazy story, but i still got the caps. I was thinking about posting them since enough time has passed, but yeah it definitely had me nervous af.
I got confronted recently. Was capping someone at the store (forgot to hit record though lol) and some woman noticed and called me out.
This woman was being loud and trying to cause a scene, so I kind of panicked, jogged out of the store and some white knight dude grabbed my arm. I pulled him away and got out of the store without further incident , but I don’t understand putting your hands on someone who is capping, especially when you’re not related to the person being filmed.
I’m assuming nothing will come of it since I wasn’t detained at the store or anything and cops generally have bigger problems than someone allegedly filming women, but it kind of shook me up.
Today was a first. A mom threatened to “call security” after she thought I was capping her adult kid (I was lol), but I couldn’t have been around them for even two minutes.
Either I’m being too obvious or way more people are on to this hobby, because I’ve had more close calls/confrontations recently than ever before.
