I think you should define what you mean by prejudice and elitism. These words are so casually tossed about these days that their meanings have become muddied.
Is having standards the same thing as prejudice and elitism?
Is it wrong to demand a minimum standard by which people should meet in order to share on this forum? Our standards are quite inclusive, all that we ask is that photos be clear, in focus, and be of decent quality. This isn’t so elitist. Anyone with a 10 year old smart phone can achieve these standards, so I don’t understand what you mean when you say this place is full of prejudice and elitism.
I don’t mean this as a personal attack, i’m just stating an observation. You haven’t posted any of your own content, so how can you say there is a bias when you have no empirical evidence of the claim?
I’m always open to criticism. I do express my frustrations more openly than most, and I can be a diva at times. Fair assesment.
That having been said, I do think that criticism needs to be shared and that standards need to be enforced. Not everyone is good and it’s ok to tell them they aren’t. Honest feedback is necessary for people to grow and get better at what they do.
I do that when I think the person is really trying. I won’t bother giving advice to trolls, or guys who don’t put any effort into their shots at all. For example, why should I give some guy a carefully thought out criticism when he doesn’t care enough to crop or rotate?
