Hi there!
I went through the “General discussion” thread, but didn’t find a suitable topic for me, maybe someone can provide a link.
So, I really have a lot of OC content for you guys that was collected before I knew about the existence of the forum, but I’m a little paranoid (or a lot)
Maybe you can give me recommendations on maintaining anonymity?
For example,
- register here through a new anonymous mailbox instead of my gmail,
- use a VPN when uploading files,
- somehow clear meta information from pictures and videos…
Thank you, if such topics have already been discussed, please share the link, unfortunately I didn’t find it!
Have a good time!

If you are too worried about it better don’t post it, saves you the headache. There’s not much to gain other than a few likes and comments. Now if you really want to share your stuff so badly then say f*ck it and post whatever you think wont affect your privacy that much. You’ll have to spend a lot of time editing stuff, bluring names of places, your body if there are reflections, some people etc. Again, if you are too worried about it think twice before doing it.

Sounds absolutely wise! I just really want to share mutual content with the forum, in gratitude for their posts. All content is quite old, filmed over a year ago. But I’m worried that the girls from the content can somehow understand who filmed them. Not reflections in the mirror, but some other tricks, but you’re right, I need to think twice
If your shots are mainly of people you know, you might have a hard time denying it if they’re found.
But yeah, an alternate email will be good. For my own paranoia, I also wait a month or so before posting my caps. Just in case someone was like “that was me the other day”. Not that it’s happened, but can’t be too careful.

How much is it possible from a software point of view and the availability of metadata from the site to determine who uploaded the post and from where? I am not strong in this knowledge. For example, track the IP address of a forum user, etc.?
yeah, what this dude says. If you’re worried, don’t post. It’s a free site and no one’s buying subscriptions to your photos.
Remove the meta from your images and vids before you post.
Some cameras put camera name on the meta, so check that. Grab a program that can easily erase it for you. Just google meta eraser or something like that and you’ll find a few free ones. Mac can do this natively and has apps too.
Other than that, if you post pics of people you know or work with make sure it’s not obvious who took em. Like, if you had a rocking time at last year’s 4th of july party and your sister’s friend knows you were the one sitting across the table from her which is the exact angle of that candid - might not wanna post that one. Unless of course, you don’t give a fuck if she knows, but then again you wouldn’t have posted about privacy if that was the case.
I’ve got dozens of pics of co-workers, the neighbor’s hot college kids, even hot extended family members I see only once every few years at graduation parties, etc - but if i post them and they get out it would be obvious who took em. so those are just for me.
enjoy!
