I see alot of these guys, on media doing these 10m+ caps, and its always so Infatuating to me, since its like the women obviously know that a guys holding his phone horizontally behind her a*ss like obviously shes going to know, dosent matter how you hold the phone or what belt clip and all that
Just know that for as many as they are out there, those type of videos, in the grand scheme of things, are extremely rare and incredibly difficult to pull off. I don’t care how good you are, you’ll be lucky to execute that in the best of times. From the most adept shooters to the least proficient ones, everybody producing content is giving you a curated, manufactured, idyllic perception of reality. For every one amazing video you see, assume there are 10 equally bad ones they had shot, on average.
Far be it from me to tell anybody here what to do, but it’s almost-always not worth the risk. Self-preservation should always be chief of mind.
Honestly, the only time I do that is if there’s a good excuse. Like, if it’s a girl I know, then I might walk with her and chat a bit. Or if I’m in line for something.
But I wouldn’t just randomly follow someone I don’t know for a long time. That could lead to trouble.
so for me currently, I cap in bursts, I try to focus in on the subject for as long as I can, maybe its first a pass by to get the lay of the land. and then stiching together clips after. This helps with not having a 25min clip and alot of dead space inbet|ween good for space and capping multiple subjects in one go. and typically I get 4 caps in a run, mall, store, airport. on a good day I might get 7 or 8 subjects which ends up being around 55 videos some might be a couple seconds and file space would be around 6GB of file space
There are many factors, scenary and luck are some of them. And also take into consideration that they might be uaing another type of camera/setup not a phone. Also to add what @HassX said, if there are cuts yeah probably there are missed shots, wrong angles, blury shots and some stuff edited out + the time the shooter spent around subject not even recording
It’s 1000% possible. You just need a good setup. At this point the danger is not even the subject itself but the public around you who will sus you if you stand behind the target too close for a too long time. It takes some analysis and skill to know when to back up, when to slow down etc.. Finally it depends, some target will be easier to cap longer , some way harder.
@plaat830 definitely lol. I mean it’s not the majority but some of the ones that are too good to be true most likely are. Someone posted on here once capping a dude following a chick recording her ass super obviously and some pointed out he’s one of the ones that offers paid content that is likely set up sometimes.
no I believe its easier than what most give credit too, especially if you don’t standout. I’d argue doing this among a duo helps. I have had female friends bait and record these women, when bent over shots, whale tails, etc. Duo is a solid solution to capturing 10 minute videos. Also, I run into a lot of the subjects into other stores. For example if I am at store A and I stayed there for like a hour, then move on to store B and see the same person there again, I start recording again but when you have help, they become more social. Cause they don’t view it as stalking, they just see it as you shopping with a friend.
I have ran into women in another store on the same day alone and I always leave asap before they see me, cause majority of women do overreact to seeing the same guy they just saw in the other now at another one they are at… its happened to me even by accident.
Those have special setup, like a go pro hide in a bag and film the subject, most likely the go pro have direct blue tooth feed to the phone (or a smart watch) so the capper can check and makee sure the target is always in frame
If I can get more than 3 minutes of my intended target, I’m happy. I have gotten maybe 2 caps that go into the double digits, and I’ve been doing the for 7+ years .
Yeah, I’ve been able to get double digits of raw footage maybe three times and all of those came down to under 8 minutes after editing. I try to cap at least a couple days a week, been into this actively now for a third summer and inactively started a couple years earlier.
Read what you wrote. In essence you said: "No, I believe it’s easier than what most give credit to…you just have to be REALLY damn good at it and NOT stand out (something in and of itself a skill on its own), have a duo, ensure nobody else sees you, have female friends to bait and record your subjects (because you know, we all have female friends just waiting in the wings to bait subjects for you), and even then… “a ‘majority’ of women STILL overreact to seeing the same guy they just saw in the other now at another one they are at”…
In other words, it’s not easy. Can anybody grab a phone and begin shooting? Sure. Can MANY of those same people shoot a 10+ minute consistent video of the same subject, without getting caught by either the subject, their family, friends, security, other patrons, workers, etc? Not likely, no. Is it possible? Absolutely it is. Is it probable? No…not so much.
It takes a lot of luck, skill, and opportunity to even get a shot - period. To get a 10+ minute video, which is typically 20-50 minutes of raw footage give or take, is damn near impossible. Now, that isn’t to say it can’t be done - of course it can. But very few can pull it off. If it was easy, anybody would be doing it and doing it often. They don’t, because it doesn’t work that way. I’m sure it can be done with ease if, say, you were shooting like @dbcooper, taking long range shots. Or if you were shooting somewhere in your car, out of sight. However close range, people moving out and about, variable bystanders, getting angles at the right place and right time, camera placement, quality, etc… those all have to come together… for 20-50 minutes, on and off.
The ability to shoot a subject for 10+ minutes of footage (edited down) and it be a decent video, is NO easy task. Unless you mean it gets EASIER the more adept you are at shooting. In which case, so does any skill people practice and hone for days, weeks, and years at a time.
I’ve been shooting more than a decade now and I maybe have a handful at this point that would hit the 10+ minute mark, if it were edited. And I’d say it’s an average of 30+ minutes of raw footage. I WISH it were easy.
I’ve been doing this longer than anyone else here (at least compared to what people have said about the time spent in this activity), and saying that it’s easy and at the same time has a series of facilitating factors is the result of chance and consequently a lot of luck. I can safely say that to get an already edited video that’s 5 minutes long is extreme, there are several setbacks that directly influence the final result. I’ll mention some facilitators:
Adequate location, adequate lighting, distracted target, distracted people around, camera in good condition, above-average target, people not blocking the view/recording, adequate time to get some good angles, adequate distance from the target, clothes that enhance the target, and so on…
Not to mention the hunter’s skill, whether with the equipment or especially how to behave in the situation mentioned above (when it starts and when it ends).
How many times have some of the factors I mentioned or some others that I may have forgotten been missing, and the final result was undesirable???
We have some hunters with good results, but they will always have their favorite subjects, and I believe that part of this preference is directly linked to being at the right time and with everything conspiring in their favor. All we need to do is analyze our own content or even that of another hunter and it is clear that many times the subject itself is incredible, but the possibilities were not the best.
I agree with what HassX said, it is very difficult to have content longer than 10 minutes, I myself have some, but it was the result of some facilitators and chance (the famous being at the right time), and the rest is a bit of experience.
